• TARPA membership allows more control over regulation. Better to be monitored by our peers than by a governmental agency that has little knowledge of our mission and even less concern in whether we accomplish it.

• TARPA membership offers opportunities for good public relations/education concerning people and organizations who work to rescue and save animal lives. It fights some of the bad impressions of animal groups by reports of “collector” activity.

• TARPA membership will bring better cooperation and more camaraderie between shelters and rescue groups that are seriously working toward the same goal to save animal lives and to stay focused on the best interest of the animal.

• TARPA membership reduces the amount of paperwork required each and every time an animal is pulled/released from a shelter or other releasing agency.

• TARPA will give a more powerful and respected voice in legislative efforts concerning animal welfare and/or abuse.

• TARPA membership provides confidence to releasing agencies about the quality of the rescue organization to which an animal is being released when there isn’t the time or staff to thoroughly investigate independently.

• TARPA will ultimately limit the accessibility of disreputable rescue groups to some innocent animals.

• TARPA membership’s cost sharing will allow more affordable public education in regard to responsible pet ownership, puppy mills, pet stores, etc.

• TARPA will bring together people with a wealth of experience and information. There is so much to be learned from one another.
